Striking Double Storey Rebuild Breathes New Life into a Heritage Home
Katana proudly delivered a stunning double storey rebuild, transforming a tired 120-year-old home into a modern family retreat. While the front façade was carefully preserved for heritage charm, the rest of the home received a complete transformation.
First, we removed the outdated rear section to make way for a spacious new two-level extension. As a result, we doubled the living space while keeping changes discreet from the street.
Inside, the ground floor now includes two new bedrooms with square-set ceilings and sliding doors. Additionally, ducted air conditioning ensures year-round comfort. A family bathroom sits between them, featuring full-height tiling, a built-in bath, and a lightwell framed by double-glazed louvered windows.
Beyond the hallway, the home opens into a striking kitchen and dining area. Custom timber panelling adds warmth, while large timber sliding doors connect the space to a paved courtyard. Furthermore, the kitchen includes a walk-in pantry, premium appliances, and sleek stone benchtops—ideal for entertaining.
Next, a beautiful timber staircase, illuminated by full-height windows, leads to the new master suite. This bedroom enjoys leafy backyard views, a generous walk-in robe, and a luxurious ensuite with floor-to-ceiling tiles and abundant natural light.
Back downstairs, a large lounge room opens to the rear yard through glass doors. Custom sliding walls offer flexible living options, while a high-performance air conditioning system ensures comfort across both floors.
