Our Clients in owned a relatively tired 1920’s style weatherboard Townhouse which needed a face-lift to make the most of its great location. KATANA were approached to build a double storey extension with a new Kitchen, Laundry, 2 x Bathrooms, 2 x Bedrooms and large Living area opening onto a North Facing Alfresco.
Our clients presented KATANA with their own plans and although the plans were poor, we have been able to redesign and create a much better use of space and features within the original Scope of works. The simple stairs were replaced with semi cantilevered treads to maximize the light into the existing hallway, and were complimented with stainless steel shipping wire balustrade which diminished into the ceilings. Over these stairs we included sky windows to again bring much needed light into the Living area and Bedroom areas on the second floor.
KATANA resigned the layout of both bathrooms, and created a much more user friendly space for both, with floor to ceiling tiles in each, and custom In-situ shower recesses.
Our clients were keen to have beautiful and feature rich “Wormy Oak” floor boards in the Living Room, which then opens out via massive bi-fold doors to a great Alfresco area complete with decking and BBQ area for entertaining. These floors look amazing and compliment the modern white on black Kitchen and Living spaces beautifully.
The remaining 2 bedrooms and hallways were renovated to their former beauty.
We completed this double storey extension and renovation mid to late October 2015 and our Clients could not be happier!
